Imagine RIT Commercial Strikes ‘Gold’ by Winning Accolades Award

TV spot receives top prize from Council for the Advancement and Support of Education

Imagine RIT: Innovation and Creativity Festival is a showcase for the achievements of students, faculty and staff at Rochester Institute of Technology, and now the marketing effort that helped draw more than 25,000 visitors to campus for the 2009 event is also being recognized for innovation and creativity.

RIT has received an Accolades Award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, District II, for the Imagine RIT television commercial that promoted the most recent festival. The entry was awarded ‘Gold,’ the program’s highest honor, in the category of PSA and Commercial Spots.

The Imagine RIT commercial was produced entirely by campus personnel in RIT’s University News Services and the Wallace Center-ETC Media Production Services. Mark Sniffen, a fourth-year film and animation student from Waterloo, N.Y., created the commercial’s animation.

The award will be presented at the CASE District II Accolades Awards reception on Monday, Feb. 8, in Philadelphia. District II is CASE’s largest North American division, which includes 700 institutions and 3,000 individual members from Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and West Virginia.
