Commuter Orientation

Are you an undergraduate first-year student or transfer student planning to live off campus? This information is for you!

Welcome Days and Orientation Check-in

Commuter students, traditionally students who are not living in the residence halls and commuting from home, and incoming transfer students who are planning to live off campus, are required to check in with RIT Orientation on one of two Welcome Days: Sunday, Aug. 18, or Monday, Aug. 19. During Welcome Days, you will check-in with RIT Orientation, attend the Resource Fair and Fun Zone, go on a campus tour, attend academic advising information sessions, and explore campus. Whichever Welcome Day you choose to attend, make sure you join RIT Orientation at 7 p.m. in the Gordon Field House and Activities Center for the Welcome to RIT session. Social programming will be held at night for all incoming students. Parents and Families are encouraged to participate in all Welcome Day activities. There is also a Parent and Family Happy Hour at 8:30 p.m. on both Welcome Days.
