Saunders College of Business hosts the 11th annual Power Your Potential Women’s Conference on Friday. The conference theme this year is “Embracing Our Voice and Leading Boldly,” and will be led by Karen Magnuson, Saunders College Executive in Residence and former executive editor at Rochester’s Democrat and Chronicle.

Print media graduate student Emily Shriver headed a project to assess how individuals recognize manipulated images used in news. She found that most people are skeptical about images seen in print or online news, but only half can tell which images actually are altered.

Roughly one person in four has a fear of public speaking, but the anxiety can be reduced if you know just what to say, how to organize, begin or end. RIT’s Expressive Communication Center strives to help students better prepare to deliver speeches and presentations.

RIT is changing how business leadership in the health systems industry is taught through a hybrid online program that includes immersive workshops and international travel to compare and contrast health care models.

RIT will use a substantial gift of real estate in Penfield to expand the university’s research and educational offerings in ecology, agriculture, sustainability and other fields. Amy Leenhouts Tait and Robert C. Tait have gifted to the university their 177-acre property, which will be dedicated as the Tait Preserve of RIT.
