Venus, Jupiter, the moon and Saturn will be visible in the night sky during the Rochester Institute of Technology Observatory’s spring open house. The free event will take place from 9 to 11 p.m. Friday, April 24.

“Now that the snow and winter clouds are gone, come to the RIT Observatory to see the planets of spring,” said Michael Richmond, RIT physics professor and observatory director. “Venus and Jupiter will be waiting for you after sunset, with the first-quarter moon in between. If you can stay until 10:45 p.m., we can catch a glimpse of Saturn rising in the east.”

The RIT Observatory is located at 645 John St. near the intersection of John Street and Bailey Road.
