Fifty years ago, Title IX set the stage for change. But the reason why RIT now has more women faculty, administrators, coaches, and exemplary students is that women acted. Prior generations of women invested their careers to make RIT a better version of itself, including winning two transformative grants from the National Science Foundation focused on gender equity.

WROC-TV talks to Jackie Nicholson, executive director of Intercollegiate Athletics; Wayne Wilson, men’s hockey head coach; and Celeste Brown, women’s hockey head coach, about the recent changes to NCAA bylaws that will allow RIT to give athletic scholarships to Division I student-athletes.

RIT's outdoor athletic fields, including the outdoor track and baseball and softball fields, are getting a facelift. Next up: the installation of a state-of-the-art artificial turf field as well as the construction of a full stadium complex.
