Honors Program: The Honors Program is designed to enhance the academic and professional experiences of qualifying students. In addition to participating in Honors general education curriculum, students have access to special courses, seminars, projects, and advising in the Gleason College.
The RIT Honors Engineering program provides gifted engineering students the experiences above and beyond those offered in standard engineering classes. Students take honors engineering classes that emphasis product development in a global economy. Travel and field trips to key industrial sites allow students to observe core engineering disciplines as practiced in a variety of corporate environments and to appreciate the many dimensions of engineering professions. Seminars and social events with engineering faculty and advisers round out the program. Visit the RIT Honors Program for additional information.
Study Abroad: International experience is becoming increasingly more important for students to demonstrate in the engineering world. Employers, for both co-op and permanent positions, continually seek out candidates whose resumes show evidence of experience in an international setting. There are many opportunities to study engineering courses at universities around the world. At some schools the courses are taught in a foreign language. If you haven’t yet mastered a foreign language there are other universities that teach courses in English.
Engineering students interested in study abroad should also consider taking a term at RIT Dubai. Here they can stay current with their RIT courses while experiencing another culture and studying with students from a wide variety of countries in the Middle East and beyond. All classes are taught in English and carry RIT credit.
Minors: RIT offers students more than 100 minors to choose from to enhance their academic program or further develop a personal area of interest. A minor in electrical engineering is available to qualified students.
Certificate Programs: The following certificate programs are offered to qualified students:
- Integrated Electronics
- Video and Image Processing
