Student / Advisor Partnership

SOIS' goal is to enable students to derive the greatest possible benefit from their RIT experience.

SOIS academic advising is a continuous, proactive process where advisors and student's partner to review each student's individualized curriculum goals and build connections and networking opportunities with RIT faculty, staff, and Rochester community partners.

Watch below video for more information about  RIT's overall advising goals :

Advisor Commitment

A SOIS advisor's role is to act as a mentor and advocate for you, as well as help you make connections with SOIS/RIT faculty, review experiential learning opportunities, such as engagement with Rochester Community Partners, and most importantly, successfully complete your degree requirements. Inform you of any new program offerings
Respond in a timely and effective manner (2 business days or less)
