Tiger's Tale: Alumni Tale - January 2021
Tiger's Tale
January 2021
We Are One RIT Global Family
Recently, on December 29, 2020, the Croatian towns of Sisak and Petrinja were struck by a 6.4-magnitude earthquake, causing substantial damage and, sadly, loss of lives. This came after a 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck the same two towns just one day before.
The epicenters were approximately 30 miles from the RIT campus in the capital of Zagreb. RIT Croatia President and Dean Don Hudspeth reports that all of the campus community is safe and there was no damage to the Zagreb facility. However, there was heavy damage in outlying towns and villages, and several reported deaths. And aside from all the challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been a difficult year as Zagreb was also struck by a magnitude 5.5 earthquake on March 22, 2020, which resulted in extensive damage to the city.
All alumni are members of the RIT family, and although Croatia is thousands of miles away for many, what happens to Tigers in one area of the world affects all Tigers. As one global university, RIT stands together in support of all Tigers in Croatia and across the world. Please continue to keep these Croatian Tigers in your thoughts as we continue to welcome in the New Year. Let’s look to a brighter and more hopeful 2021 for all Tigers.

They represent a variety of graduation years and commit their talent and time to the university. This year we have seven new additions to the Board, including our first representative from one of RIT’s international campuses.
