Fire Protection

Introduces fundamental concepts in protection of industrial workers and property from fire and explosion. Fire chemistry, control of ignition sources in industry, and properties of combustible materials are discussed. Fire detection and extinguishment are covered along with building construction for fire prevention, life safety, fire codes, and related topics. This course is co-listed with ESHS-601; students may receive credit for ESHS-501 or ESHS-601, not both.
