Bio

Dr. Korivi serves as Chair of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering Technology at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) where he also holds the rank of Professor. He earned a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University and is active in the fields of semiconductor technologies, energy and related areas, and engineering education innovation. He has led externally funded research, training, and workforce development programs in advanced technology sectors, securing more than $11 million in support from organizations including the National Science Foundation, Department of Homeland Security, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Department of Energy, and Intel Corp.

Dr. Korivi has prior experience in academic leadership, student success initiatives, curricular innovation, and program development and expansion. Before joining RIT, Dr. Korivi served as Professor and Chair of the Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy Department at Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech). There, he led enrollment growth in the electrical engineering and electronics engineering technology programs, achieved his college's highest retention rate among multi-campus departments, and record growth in undergraduate research opportunities. At Oregon Tech, he launched an online master’s program in renewable energy engineering and certificate programs in photovoltaics and energy storage; established state- and federally funded experiential learning initiatives in semiconductor manufacturing, quantum technologies, energy manufacturing, and secured an impactful laboratory equipment partnership with a major electronics manufacturer.
