Mechanical and Materials Lab

The Materials Lab features various equipment for testing metals such as: a fatigue tester for metal specimens, two Universal testing machines capable of Tensile, compression, and three point bend tests of metals, two Rockwell hardness testers capable of measuring both metal and plastics, two microscopes for observing metallic grain structures, four polish stations, two sanding stations, a cut-off saw and several ovens capable of achieving in excess of 2000°F. The Lab also features two pieces of CNC equipment for prototyping metal and a large Fanuc Robot. All instruments have individual dedicated computers. Future note – The robotics lab will be relocating to this lab during summer 18’, and possibly several welding stations will be added.
