BS Electrical Engineering Technology

Tanesha Magby joined the RIT College of Engineering Technology National Council bringing more than two decades of leadership in cybersecurity, technology risk, and information security governance across global, highly regulated organizations. A proud RIT alumna, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from RIT and has built a career applying engineering foundations to information security, cybersecurity risk management, and business enablement.

Tanesha currently serves as General Manager, Information Security Governance and Compliance at Delta Air Lines, where she leads the strategic design and execution of enterprise-wide programs that advance cybersecurity governance, regulatory alignment, and security awareness. In this role, she provides executive-level leadership and oversight across a complex, highly matrixed aviation environment spanning frontline flight operations, technical functions, and technology and development teams that support global airline operations. She works in close partnership with senior business and technology leaders to align cybersecurity strategy with enterprise priorities, translate cyber risk into business-relevant insights, and strengthen Delta’s overall security posture while enabling innovation and operational excellence.

Prior to joining Delta, Tanesha built a career defined by progressive leadership roles in information security strategy, governance, risk management, technology assurance, and digital transformation. She has served as CISO Chief of Staff, providing strategic advisory support and operational oversight while coordinating organization wide security functions in direct support of C-level leadership. In addition, she has led global teams responsible for security programs and executive advisory efforts, overseeing risk management, regulatory readiness, and large-scale technology assessments that support platforms operating at global scale. Throughout her career, she has guided organizations through periods of growth, transformation, and heightened cyber risk and helped position security as a business enabler rather than a constraint.

Earlier in her career, Tanesha held roles within major financial institutions and consulting organizations, where she directed complex technology and information security audits, assessed large-scale infrastructure and application initiatives, and evaluated control environments across global operations. She also brings hands-on experience in technology delivery and program management, having led multidisciplinary teams that developed and deployed large-scale digital platforms, shaping a leadership approach grounded in both technical depth and operational execution.

Tanesha holds professional certifications including CISA, CRISC, and CDPSE, and remains deeply engaged in advancing leadership, education, and representation within the technology and cybersecurity professions. As an RIT alumna and National Council member, she is committed to strengthening connections between industry and academia through strategic counsel, student advocacy, and support for experiential learning. She brings a practitioner’s perspective on cybersecurity leadership and risk governance that will help RIT graduates prepare to lead at the intersection of engineering, security, and business impact.
