Title IX Education and Training

Annual Mandatory Training

All RIT employees are required to complete Discrimination and Harassment (including Title IX) training upon hire. Additionally, they must take an annual refresher course, titled Prohibiting Harassment and Discrimination – Including Title IX, through Workday. To access these courses and more, please visit the OCE Training and Education webpage.

Sex and Gender-Based Education, Awareness, and Prevention Program

The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination (SaVE) Act mandate that universities offer primary prevention and awareness programs for new students and employees, as well as ongoing initiatives. These programs encompass educational sessions, events, lectures, awareness campaigns, and on-campus training related to these critical topics.

University community members interested in hosting a prevention program are encouraged to complete the Prevention Program Tracking Form. This form helps the university maintain a centralized database of all sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking prevention, education, and awareness efforts on campus. Additionally, if you would like the Title IX team to design and conduct a sex or gender-based harassment and discrimination prevention training for your department or organization, please fill out the Prevention Program Training Request Form. When completing the form, please provide detailed information about the target audience and type of training and education needed. For inquiries, feel free to contact the Title IX Office at titleix@rit.edu.
