What are you involved in at RIT?
College of Science Student Activity Board (COSSAB), the College of Science Peer Mentoring Program, VisViva Dance Company, and I'm a Peer Facilitator for the Year One Program RIT-365 course.
Why RIT and the College of Science?
The first time I visited RIT I knew it was where I wanted to go. The emphasis on developing you not only as a student but as a future employee through experiental learning, research oppurtunities and so many resources for co-ops was very important to me. With over 300 clubs on campus and so many student organizations and events throughout the year I knew I would find a community here. The campus being near the city yet somewhat closed off also played a big role in my decision, since I'm from a small town. It was easy to find a home on campus while only being a short bus ride from the city.
What is your advice for prospective college students?
An organized calender is key! Put all your appointments, courses, and club meetings on one calender. The advice you hear the most often is common because it works. Trust your gut and stay organized!
