Liwei Ji
Postdoctoral Associate
Bio
Liwei earned his Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he investigated gravitational collapse under the supervision of Prof. Rong-Gen Cai. Following his doctoral studies, he joined Beijing Normal University as a postdoctoral researcher. There, guided by Prof. Zhoujian Cao, he focused on solving gravitational field equations using the finite element method, developing a continuous Galerkin solver based on the open-source PHG platform. He subsequently worked with Prof. Wolfgang Tichy at Florida Atlantic University, developing a gravitational module for the discontinuous Galerkin code, NMESH. Liwei’s research primarily focuses on numerical relativity, with an emphasis on advancing numerical techniques to model complex astrophysical scenarios.
