Bachmann co-PI for NSF grant

Charles Bachmann, professor in the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science, is the co-PI for a grant from the National Science Foundation titled, “Accelerating Use of Geologically Driven Engineering and Reclamation (AUGER), A Predictive Approach to a Sustainable Critical Minerals Industry.” The project is led by Cornell with partners including RIT, CSIRO (Australia’s National Science Agency), and Phoenix Tailings as an industrial partner. This project provides an opportunity to merge fundamental materials sciences to better inform engineering and practices for a more sustainable U.S. mineral industry.
