Carichino, Maki, and Gunputh publish in 'Pharmaceutics'

Lucia Carichino, assistant professor; Kara Maki, professor in the School of Mathematics and Statistics; and Narshini Gunputh, mathematical modeling Ph.D. student, published the manuscript “A Meta-Analysis of In Vitro Release of Hydrophilic Therapeutics from Contact Lenses Using Mathematical Modeling” in Pharmaceutics. A meta-analysis was conducted to study the in vitro release of therapeutics from contact lenses using 53 experimental datasets previously published. The theoretical predictive tool proposed could aid the preliminary stages of contact lens therapeutics delivery development. The work was done in collaboration with Chau-Minh Phan from the School of Optometry & Vision Science at the University of Waterloo.
