Wong and Childs improve COVID-19 model
Tony Wong, assistant professor in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, and mathematical modeling Ph.D. student Meghan Childs improved a COVID-19 model for a university campus by combining it with real testing data. The study, led by Childs, titled “Enhancing a University Community COVID-19 Model with Bayesian Model-Data Fusion,” significantly boosted the model’s accuracy and showed how campus data can make public health tools more reliable.
