Shannon holds an M.S. in Service, Leadership, and Innovation; Entrepreneurship (2016) and a B.S. in Biotechnology (2010) from RIT. She is currently completing a Certificate in Analytics from The Roux Institute at Northeastern University, expected to be conferred in May 2024.
Shannon is Principal at CEI Ventures, Inc., an impact venture capital firm dedicated to social and environmental impact headquartered in Maine. Her expertise extends to advising the investment team on deals related to health, SaaS, marketplace, technology, and adjacent verticals. With over 5 years of experience in Research & Development, spanning both bench and pharmaceutical clinical research, Shannon specialized in T1D, age-related chronic kidney and cardiovascular disease, lifespan studies, and oncology diagnostics. Shannon's professional journey transitioned from a research-focused background to diverse roles in growth strategy. Her expertise encompasses business and corporate development, strategic partnerships, product management, alliance management, consulting, and venture capital. Throughout her career, she has worked with reputable organizations, including but not limited to The Jackson Laboratory, Johnson & Johnson, Excell Partners, and Quest Diagnostics. Her extensive portfolio includes assessing innovative businesses and products across diverse industries, such as healthcare, life sciences, technology, software, AI, ML, data analytics, clean energy, and more.
Shannon splits her time between the vibrant cities of Portland, ME, and Boston, MA, and enjoys sailing, skiing (snow & water), cycling, hiking, reading, traveling, salsa dancing, soccer and basketball, meditation, and is a serious foodie.
