Designed for new faculty, this foundational training introduces RIT’s Learning Management System (LMS) and helps you get your course ready for teaching with confidence.
In this session, you’ll explore the LMS, known as myCourses, as the central hub for your course—where you can organize content, communicate with students, manage assignments, and track student progress. The training focuses on essential tools and workflows you’ll use right away, with an emphasis on clarity, efficiency, and best practices for supporting student success.
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
- Navigate your course site and understand the instructor view
- Organize course content using common myCourses structures
- Post announcements and communicate effectively with students
- Create and manage basic assignments and assessments
- Locate key support resources for continued learning and help
This training is ideal for faculty who are new to myCourses or new to teaching at RIT. No prior experience is required. Whether you are preparing your first course or transitioning from another system, this session provides a supportive starting point and a clear path forward.
This session is for RIT faculty, including adjuncts and teaching assistants, and is held via Zoom. Participants should request access services if needed.
