Vincenzo Buonomo is a senior program manager at the Center for Excellence in Lean Enterprise in RIT’s Golisano Institute for Sustainability. He is responsible for helping companies understand and apply Lean and Lean Six Sigma implementation techniques through assessments, training workshops, focused process improvement (kaizen) events, and projects. Buonomo has over 10 years of training and consulting experience in lean manufacturing, quality system management, facility planning and ergonomics. He has worked with over 100 companies, including small, medium and Fortune 500 customers from a variety of industries, to improve their business. Prior to joining RIT, Buonomo was an engineer in the Aerospace Quality Department at Lord Corp. in Erie, Pa., where he was responsible for projects involving statistical studies and process improvements. Buonomo holds a M.E. degree in manufacturing engineering and a B.S. degree in industrial engineering from RIT. He is an ASQ certified quality engineer and a member of the American Society of Quality. |

Since 2007, Nasr has been Assistant Provost and Director of the Golisano Institute for Sustainability. The institute focuses on cutting edge research and education in sustainable design, alternative energy development and pollution prevention, and offers one of the world's first doctoral programs in sustainability. For over a decade Nasr has been a leader in research and development efforts in environmentally benign manufacturing and industrial sustainability. He has developed strong ties to industry through efforts to implement and improve sustainable design processes at hundreds of companies from diverse sectors. He has also spoken at numerous international conferences, chaired a number of industry-wide panels and published numerous technical papers in the field. He has served as a member of the National Research Council’s Board on Manufacturing and Engineering Design and the National Science Foundation’s Environmentally Benign Manufacturing Team. Nasr has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Helwan University in Cairo, Egypt, an M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Rutgers University, an M.Eng. in Manufacturing Engineering from Penn State University and a Ph.D. in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from Rutgers University. |
