Men’s hockey hosts Army this weekend

Defenseman Chris Haltigin and the Tigers look to move up in the Atlantic Hockey standings against Army this weekend.

The RIT Tigers men's hockey team hosts the Army Black Knights in a pair of key Atlantic Hockey contests at 7:05 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14-15, in Ritter Arena.

RIT (3-5-1, 2-1-1 AHA) fell 6-2 on the road at Niagara Nov. 7 in a non-conference match-up—with Tyler Brenner and Brennan Sarazin scoring for the Tigers. Junior defenseman Dan Ringwald leads RIT with eight assists nine points, while Brenner, Sarazin and Jesse Newman each have four goals and seven points this season.

Army (2-4-1, 2-3-1 Atlantic Hockey) split a pair of games last weekend against American International, with each team winning on its home ice.

The all-time series between the two schools is knotted at 1-1-2. Last season, the two teams skated to back-to-back ties. RIT goaltender Louis Menard played in both games, stopping 62-of-65 shots.

This Saturday is Youth Hockey and Armed Services Night.
