Senior Vice President for Student Affairs Mary-Beth Cooper releases statement on missing student

George Delany, a third-year political science major from Frederick, Md., was last seen Saturday in Chili, where he lives off-campus with fellow students.

I wish to join members of the RIT community in expressing my concern regarding the ongoing search for one of our students.

George Delany, a third-year political science major from Frederick, Md., was last seen Saturday in Chili, where he lives off-campus with fellow students. His vehicle was found Sunday in Wayland, Steuben County, but George’s current location remains unknown.

RIT Public Safety has been working around the clock in cooperation with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and New York State Police in hopes of securing George’s safe return. Our thoughts are with his family members as well as friends here on campus who are anxiously awaiting that moment.

George is a white male, approximately 5’10” tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has sandy-reddish hair. He was last seen wearing a brown, light-weight jacket.

Anyone with information that might aid in this search is asked to call State Police at 585-398-4100.
