As a campus community, we have much to celebrate. In fact this weekend may prove historic as our men’s hockey team eyes consecutive conference championships and our women’s team competes for its first-ever national championship.

Our student athletes provide us a great reason for pride, and I embrace the tremendous spirit that is resulting from their success. Let’s enjoy the moment.

But as we gather this weekend, I also ask that we take a moment to acknowledge a member of our community whose personal situation remains uncertain. Members of law enforcement continue their search for third-year student George Delany, who has been missing since last Saturday. Please keep George, as well as his family and friends, in your thoughts as we continue to hope for his safe return.

George is a white male, approximately 5’10” tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has sandy-reddish hair. He was last seen wearing a brown, light-weight jacket. Anyone with information that might aid in this search is asked to call State Police at 585-398-4100.

I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable weekend.
