RIT’s School of Design is ranked 11th among “The World’s 25 Best Design Schools” in a new survey conducted by Business Insider magazine. The rankings are based on the percentage of schools judged “somewhat valuable, valuable, or extremely valuable,” by industry professionals who responded to the survey. More than two thirds (66.9 percent) rated RIT’s School of Design “extremely valuable” or “valuable.” Among the 633 respondents, 87.8 percent said they studied or participated in a college-level design program; most are either product designers (30.3 percent) or art directors (26.9 percent). The ranking marks the third time in six years that RIT’s School of Design has been ranked as one of the top design schools globally. BusinessWeek named RIT among the world’s top design programs in 2006 and 2007.
