The April 19 issue of News & Events contains plenty of interesting news. In fact, page one is “visually pleasing,” to coin a phrase from one of my former communication professors.
However, I’m most pleased that an eleventh-hour decision was made to add a photo and a caption from our campus memorial service for the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings. Our hope was to share a poignant image that expressed the emotion of the day.
Take note of the page-four corner image—our deepest sympathies go out to the victims’ families and those left to heal at Virginia Tech.
