The Caroline Werner Gannett Project “Visionaries in Motion” is earning a reputation for bringing an interesting assortment of people to campus. Next up is Elizabeth Streb. She’s a dancer and choreographer who takes her art to the edge. She’s the director of Streb Extreme Dance Co. , and calls her Brooklyn studio “S.L.A.M.”—Streb Laboratory for Action Mechanics.
There won’t be any dancing during this visit to campus, but Streb will talk about her craft and share images of her “action engineer” dancers in their trademark risky choreography as part of her talk “The Limitless Imagination of the Muscles and the Bones: Action in Time and Space.” The talk—free and open to the public—begins at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7, in the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science auditorium.
