RIT all over the airwaves Miscellaneous

Network television had an orange and brown tint to it Monday evening.

During FOX’s broadcast of the BCS National Championship college football game between Ohio State and LSU, RIT community members may have recognized a familiar face on the Ohio State sidelines. Fourth-year advertising photography major Whitney Tressel, daughter of Ohio State coach Jim Tressel, was on the sidelines wearing an Ohio State football jersey during the game.

Meanwhile, over on NBC, a 2007 RIT graduate made a splash by winning one of the first male competitions on the reborn “American Gladiators” competition. Adonis Lockett, an electrical/mechanical engineering technology graduate, rallied from an early deficit to pull off the victory in the competition’s final event: The Eliminator.

Lockett, who is currently an engineer for Boeing, told American Gladiators host Hulk Hogan that, if he wins the show’s $100,000 prize, he would use the money to help his mother retire.

Stay tuned to this blog to see when/if Lockett will be back on the American Gladiators competition.
