As Brandon first told you on Wednesday, this week RIT hosts the fourth annual Finger Lakes Regional FIRST Robotics Competition. If you’re interested in spirited competition involving engineering, technology and robotics, come to RIT’s Gordon Field House today or tomorrow to check it out. It’s kind of like a high-tech sporting event for high school students—and it’s loud, colorful and exciting (and open to the public all day, both days).
To learn more about the contest, listen to this week’s Studio 86 podcast featuring RIT engineering instructor and FIRST volunteer Kate Nordland.
Plus, here’s a bit of news you’ll get only on the blog: FIRST founder and inventor Dean Kamen might make a brief appearance sometime this weekend at the Finger Lakes Regional.
Have a great weekend!
