The debut edition of News & Events Daily arrived in recipients e-mail inboxes Oct. 8. At 11:30 a.m. every weekday during the academic year (excluding breaks), N&E Daily is sent to students, faculty and staff via RIT’s Message Center. (In the very near future, it will simultaneously be available at www.rit.edu/news.)
Each edition features the day’s top news stories, overnight and morning news clips from RIT in the news (featuring headlines and links to stories about RIT in outside news media), a Campus Spotlight photo of the day, upcoming events and RIT sports results. Plus, some issues will include links to new podcasts and news “For and about alumni.”
We welcome your thoughts about News & Events Daily. Feel free to contact me directly at mjsuns@rit.edu.
Have a great Brick City Homecoming weekend!

So can alumni sign up for it?
At this time, News & Events Daily is only available via Message Center. Alumni and others may subscribe to receive the twice-monthly Dateline: RIT e-newsletter at https://lists.rit.edu/mailman/listinfo.cgi/ritnews
I would like to see more health issues in your newsletter. . . . Thanks!
Lots of college presidents are taking a cut in pay to show their genuine support for keeping costs down in hard economic times.
Presidents of Colleges Give Back Some Pay
What about RIT’s president?
This NY Times article tells what others are doing. I am sure RIT’s president expresses concern in words. Will there be any announcement to back that up?
Jim C:
President Destler, and his wife Rebecca, gave 25 percent of the presidential pay back to RIT this past year. He feels very strongly about giving back to the students. He announced this way before the current financial crisis.
