Similar to our BS in Imaging Science, but at the more advanced graduate level, both the MS and PhD programs cover core content in what we refer to as the “imaging chain”. This chain refers to the capture of photons via optics, onto a detector plane, as well as the processing, analysis, and visualization of imagery and results. Artificial intelligence could apply to this entire chain, especially as far as  intelligent systems are concerned, but is a strong focus in especially our image processing and computer vision course sequence. Our graduate students also develop programming skills, and many embed AI approaches in their respective graduate research projects, with support from faculty and staff.
