John Tu, Ph.D., senior associate dean and professor of management information systems, and Quang “Neo” Bui, Ph.D., associate professor in the department of MIS, marketing, and analytics, working with students from RIT China and Saunders College, co-authored a paper that received the Best Paper Runner-Up Award at the 34th Annual Workshop of the AIS Special Interest Group on Adoption and Diffusion of Information Technology, at the 2024 ICIS conference in Bangkok, Thailand.
This paper grew out of Tu and Bui’s project supported by a Global Faculty Research Grant, “Online Communities in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Evidence from China and the U.S.”
The Saunders College students assisting on the project and paper are Jeff Aube ’25 (MS technology innovation management and entrepreneurship) and Allan Ye ’25 (management information systems).
Says Professor Tu, “Our undergraduate students are talented. We had a wonderful experience engaging them in this project and the students also learned a lot about academic research. This award is a good testament to the quality and impact of the work.”
The project continues. The authors expect to submit a more comprehensive research paper to a top journal by summer of 2025.
