Saunders Alumnus Honored by Water for South Sudan

Ryan Baldwin ’15 (accounting) has been honored with a well in his name by Water for South Sudan (WFSS), a non-profit that delivers “sustainable quality-of-life services to and with the people of South Sudan by efficiently providing access to clean, safe water, and improving hygiene and sanitation practices in areas of great need.”  Baldwin serves as Treasurer on the WFSS Board of Directors.

In his role, Baldwin worked closely with the WFSS accounting team, in South Sudan as well as the US, to bring them up to speed on QuickBooks Online. He also provided training on putting together reports for the Board.

Says Baldwin, “I have also helped both the US and the South Sudan side prepare for their annual audits—this was more of a learning curve in South Sudan since the staff over there had not gone through an audit until the Foundation was formed.”

The well in Baldwin’s name was drilled at the Malith-Abyei School in Warrap State, South Sudan.
