Jacob Capps ‘26 (supply chain management), Cassie Lang ‘28 (supply chain management), Joe Hess ‘29 (MIS, supply chain management), and Amina Atabaeva ‘28 (global business) took part in the ASCM Pittsburgh Student Case Competition at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, November 15, 2025. They were accompanied by Kevin Sweeney, associate professor in the department of management.
The students were presented with a problem about the selection of suppliers in the aerospace industry under the new regime of tariffs that were enacted over the last 10 months. The team learned a lot in their short time on the case, and even though they went up against teams of mostly seniors, were scored in the top half of the competition by most judges.
