Business school now Saunders College of Business

Effective immediately, RIT has renamed the E. Philip Saunders College of Business to Saunders College of Business.

Effective immediately, Rochester Institute of Technology has renamed the E. Philip Saunders College of Business to Saunders College of Business.

“We are implementing the new name as part of our new strategic plan,” says Saunders College Dean dt ogilvie. “We feel it is an important element of our branding initiatives.

“Mr. Saunders has been an RIT supporter for many years and his name is synonymous with the high standards and mission of our business college. We continue to honor his passion, entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to educational opportunities for our students.”

In 2006, entrepreneur E. Philip Saunders, owner of Saunders Management Co. and founder of TravelCenters of America Inc., committed $13 million when the university established the business college in his name. Saunders committed an additional $5 million to RIT in 2010, with a challenge to Saunders alumni to raise $15 million in support.
