RIT is home to a wide range of student-led organizations that shape campus culture, foster leadership, and provide essential services to the student body. These Major Student Organizations (MSO) play a central role in enhancing the student experience, whether through planning large-scale events, representing diverse communities, producing student media, or supporting campus traditions. Getting involved with these groups is a great way to build connections, develop skills, and make a lasting impact at RIT.

Student Service Organizations
Student Service Organizations provide significant services to the RIT student community. Students can engage with the organizations by attending their events and activities, utilizing the services they provide, or seeking a student leadership position.
College Activities Board
The College Activities Board (CAB) is a student-run group that organizes events to engage RIT students outside the classroom. CAB plans on-campus and off-campus activities to connect students with student life, including Major Festivals, collaborations with clubs, and partnerships with various organizations.
WITR 89.7 is a collaborative radio station run by students with a love of music and a desire to foster a community that shares in this passion. WITR is the authoritative source of new and undiscovered music, providing the public with a unique media experience and serving as a public face of the RIT.
Representative Student Organizations
A Representative Student Organization (RSO) is a student organization that operates in a governance or representative capacity or provides a significant service to the student body at RIT.
ALANA Collegiate Association (ACA)
The goal of the ACA is to foster and sustain an awareness of the ALANA (African, Latin, Asian, Native American) community as an integral part of RIT and the surrounding community. ACA and their affiliates promote academic excellence, cultural expression, and leadership.
Global Union represents about 2,000 international students and cultural organizations at RIT. As the largest multicultural student organization on campus, they promote understanding and appreciation of diversity to help you feel at home.
Greek Leadership Committee (GLC)
The Greek Leadership Committee aims to foster unity, advocacy, and collaboration among Greek organizations at RIT. Through leadership, service, and community engagement, GLC strives to enhance the Greek experience and build strong relationships between Greek Life, the university, and the student body.
NTID Student Congress, formed in 1971, is RIT's largest Deaf and Hard of Hearing student group. It has grown significantly and is now a prominent campus organization. As an RSO, it represents Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students and various Deaf groups at RIT. By organizing events and programs, NTID Student Congress connects with its members and serves the RIT and broader Deaf community.

OUTspoken at RIT amplifies queer voices and advocates for fair policies. With a voting seat in Student Government, it promotes inclusivity and equity. The organization unites the LGBTQ+ community, hosting events like the Rainbow Prom and educational sessions. Partnering with the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Resource Center, they provide crucial resources such as bras, binders, contraception, menstrual products, and clothing, ensuring all students thrive.
Student-Athlete Advisor Committee (SAAC)
The RIT Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) represents student-athletes on campus. Its mission is to provide leadership opportunities, foster community, and boost school spirit through various programs and events. SAAC partners with Student Government to enhance school spirit. RIT SAAC is prominent in the Liberty League, Atlantic Hockey Association, and College Hockey America, hosting events and participating in the Liberty League SAAC Executive Committee.
Campus Life Councils
The Campus Life Council is a student organization that supports, represents, and raises awareness for approved student organizations. Its mission is to foster community, provide structure, and help affiliate groups achieve their goals and enhance their representation at RIT. Recognized Councils support affiliated organizations with similar missions and visions.
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the governing body for nationally recognized men's fraternities at RIT, affiliated with the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC). IFC promotes leadership, scholarship, service, and brotherhood, fostering a unified and values-driven fraternity experience. Together, its member organizations work to create a strong, inclusive, and engaged fraternity community.
College Panhellenic Council (CPC)
The College Panhellenic Council (CPC) is the governing body for the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities at RIT. Rooted in values of friendship, leadership, scholarship, and service, CPC promotes collaboration among member chapters and fosters a supportive and empowering community for women. As part of the larger NPC network, CPC helps uphold high standards of excellence, inclusion, and sisterhood across campus.
Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)
The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) at RIT is home to 13 culturally based Greek-lettered organizations that uplift historically underrepresented communities through identity, service, scholarship, and unity. MGC includes fraternities and sororities that are members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO), and the National Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Panhellenic Association (NAPA). Together, MGC organizations foster cultural pride, social justice, and community engagement while empowering students to lead with purpose and authenticity.
Performing Arts Student Council
The Performing Arts Student Council (PASC) at RIT represents, protects, and advocates for the interests of RIT students involved in performing arts. PASC enhances the campus arts experience by providing support and resources, fostering communication among performance groups, and organizing events to showcase student talent. PASC aims to create a vibrant and inclusive artistic community.
RIT A Cappella Council is a collective of a cappella groups at RIT. These groups collaborate to plan fall auditions, workshops, fun events, and performances. The Council strives to foster a uniquely positive, communicative, and cooperative a cappella community.
The Interfaith Council (IC) consists of student representatives from the various religious, secular, and spiritual organizations on campus, including student clubs and organizations, that collaborate on exciting, engaging, and dialogical experiences. Such events and activities explore the relationships among interfaith, non-religious, and secular worldviews to make connections, form communities, and explore deep questions of purpose, meaning, and value.
