KhudaBukhsh has paper accepted at ACM conference

Ashique KhudaBukhsh, assistant professor in the Department of Software Engineering, had the paper “Fringe News Networks: Dynamics of US News Viewership Following the 2020 Presidential Election” accepted at the 2022 International ACM Conference on Web Science, in Barcelona, Spain. The paper analyzed social media data to study social political news networks and their viewers, providing insights into what happened regarding U.S. political social media channels and their viewership during the 64 days between the U.S. presidential election and the violence that took place at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. The paper was done in collaboration with researchers at Carnegie Mellon University and University of Maryland, College Park.
