Mohseni and team publish paper in ‘Nano Express’

Parsian K. Mohseni, associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Microelectronic Engineering, and Alireza Abrand, a doctoral candidate in the microsystems engineering Ph.D. program, along with their collaborator, Nicklas Anttu, from Abo Akademi University in Finland, recently published “Modeling Selective Narrowband Light Absorption in Coaxial InAs-GaAs(0.1)Sb(0.9) Nanowires with Partial Shell Segment Coverage” in the journal Nano Express. The nanophotonic engineering approach highlighted in this paper reveals that both spectrally-selective infrared light detection and polarization-dependent optical filtration can be simultaneously achieved by tuning the geometry and dimensions of semiconductor nanowire arrays.
