Researchers at RIT are developing a faster and more reliable way to send and receive large amounts of data through the internet. By creating a new network protocol, researchers are essentially developing a new high-speed lane of online traffic, specifically for emergency information. -

A family first: Graduating from college
Thousands of RIT students took the stage in the Gordon Field House May 19 as their status shifted from student to graduate. For Leah Bockhahn, Muhammad Ibraheem and Shantel Forrest, crossing the stage had an even deeper meaning as they became the first in their families to graduate from college. -

Two to receive public service awards
James Watters, RIT’s senior vice president of Finance and Administration and treasurer, will receive the 2017 Four Presidents Distinguished Public Service Award, and Wilson Darko, a fifth-year electrical engineering technology student, will receive the 2017 Bruce R. James Award at a ceremony May 10.
