Brace Yourself; Halo 7 EMS Cervical Collar
A showcase of our combined Mechanical and Bio-Medical Engineering team's design on a Cervical Collar medical device proposed for Emergency Medical Services. This device concept is to address current problems with emergency Cervical Collars being very uncomfortable, and the need to have a back board in conjunction with a Cervical Collar to achieve the highest restriction in patients range of motion. This idea for a new Cervical Collar came about from our client, Michael Benetti, a 20 year EMS veteran who intends to address these concerns. In our exhibit we can showcase our 3D printed prototype for our proof of concept along with a range of motion study utilizing the newly acquired Vicon Imaging System. This system helped us study the range of motion of current Cervical Collars and areas needing for improvement. This live session will be able to show real time the increased Cervical Support.
