“Light up” with Science and Math

Location

Thomas Gosnell Hall - A-Level Atrium

All forms of lights are indeed captivating, and exploring the science behind them is very interesting. The Women in Science (WISe) group's exhibition will shed light on the mysteries of light, using principles from Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Biology. We'll delve into the fundamentals, unraveling why light travels in straight lines, which is a fundamental concept in optics and the experiment of pinhole cameras. Additionally, we'll explore the fascinating world of bioluminescence, understanding how living organisms produce light and its ecological significance. Moreover, we'll distinguish between fluorescence and phosphorescence, unraveling their unique properties and applications. This exhibition promises to illuminate minds and inspire a deeper appreciation for the wonders of light.
