Exhibit Overview This year for Imagine RIT, Reporter aims to focus on community outreach engagement for students, alumni, faculty, and the general public. We plan to extend our reach beyond our exhibit by offering live social media coverage of other exhibits and events. Meanwhile, our exhibit will offer the opportunity for people to read our publications and history, but also the chance to be interviewed. Lastly, we are also working to build a university-wide campus exploration event. Live Coverage Many students and community members may already be familiar with WOTS. In short, it’s a longstanding Reporter segment in which passersby are briefly and casually interviewed about what exhibits they’ve visited, which they liked, and their overall thoughts on Imagine RIT. These are done in the form of short questions, giving interviewees the freedom to engage as much or as little as they'd like. This will engage community members to reflect on what they’ve seen at Imagine while also giving a glimpse of the many other exhibits at Imagine for others. Tabling We plan to utilize our exhibit table to display the recent issues of Reporter Magazine. These will also be available for attendees to take with them, making the publication more accessible to those traveling or unable to get a copy when it was initially published. Typically, Imagine RIT is populated with Reporter alumni, We also plan to use a “History of Reporter” banner, which was printed in advance, to educate people on the history of the publication. We hope this will increase interest and engagement amongst students. Campus-wide Exploration Event We aim to bring engagement throughout campus during Imagine by creating an exploration event that extends all over the academic side. Participants will be given punch cards with various hints cluing at different locations across campus. Reporter staff will be covering the event around the whole of RIT’s campus, and participants will be tasked with identifying staff and greeting them. Staff will punch cards as participants visit them at each location. When participants reach a certain threshold of punches on their card, they can earn Reporter merchandise (stickers, t-shirts, etc.). This approach enables participants to determine their level of engagement at their convenience.
