RIT Aero Design Team

Location

Student Hall for Exploration and Development (SHD/011) - 011-A950 Atrium

The exhibit will display the results of the work done by the Aero Design Team throughout the 2025-2026 school year. The main display piece will be our team's primary aircraft which will have just returned from the AIAA Design/Build/Fly competition in Wichita, KS. It is an RC aircraft with a 5-foot wingspan, capable of carrying a heavy payload and deploying and towing a banner during flight. It is composed of carbon fiber, 3D-printed plastic, wood, and foam. In addition, we will be displaying other projects, including a custom-built CNC hot wire cutting machine, a custom-built propeller test cage, and more. We will also have an interactive flight simulator that visitors will be able to use to get the feel for how to fly an RC aircraft.
