See the Heat - Thermal Imaging Technology

Location

Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science - First Floor Hallway 2

We have several thermal or infrared-detecting cameras (FLIR and Seek) that can be used to take pictures of temperature. When we take a picture of attendees, they will notice that if they have cold hands or a cold nose, these will appear dark blue in the image, while their warm bodies will appear red. Eyeglasses block the infrared and will appear more like sunglasses. We will have some other props like ice and warm water, opaque trash bags that let the infrared image through, while panes of thermal glass block the image completely. We will have a photo printer so attendees can leave with an infrared photo of their family.
