WADAIKO - Tradaitional Japanese Drumming Performance

Location

Infinity Quad - Infinity Quad Stage

The visitors to our exhibit will be immersed in the thunderous rhythms and dynamic performance by WADAIKO, the one and only traditional Japanese drumming club in Rochester. Our exhibit will showcase the art of taiko, a performance that is as much a visual spectacle as it is an auditory one. Taiko drumming is characterized by its vigorous, choreographed drumming style, which includes dramatic poses and synchronized movements. It's a full-body experience, engaging the senses and the spirit. Visitors will witness our club members in traditional attire, demonstrating various techniques and compositions that range from deeply traditional to more contemporary arrangements. The performance will be interspersed with brief explanations of the symbolism behind the song and our club.
