Exploring the NSF 2026 Idea Machine

NSF recently issued Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) NSF 20-041 inviting proposals for Conferences and EAGER grants following the themes of the top Idea Machine entries. The 2026 Idea Machine is further described in the DCL. NSF has narrowed entries to a set of 33 ideas representing compelling areas for fundamental research in science and engineering in the coming years.

VentureWell E-Teams

VentureWell’s E-Teams program provides funds for faculty-led multidisciplinary student teams to bring inventions to market.  E-teams must​ contain a minimum of two active undergraduate or graduate RIT students as key members, and a faculty mentor who will serve as Principal Investigator (PI). 

Applicants for the May program cycle must submit project abstracts (described below) to Charles Bush at cebsrs@rit.edu by April 14, 2021 at 5:00 pm.
