Wong and Wright awarded NSF grant for STEM education program
Tony Wong, associate professor of applied mathematics, and Kate Wright, professor and head of the Thomas H. Gosnell School of Life Sciences, were awarded an NSF grant in the amount of $465,000 to run a Research Experiences for Undergraduates program focused on STEM education research. Supporting three summer cohorts from 2027 through 2029, the program will provide undergraduates with mentored research experiences addressing workforce-development needs in artificial intelligence, biotechnology, quantum information science and engineering, and STEM educator preparation.
