Classroom Types

The Center for Teaching and Learning supports four classroom types: Traditional, Flex, Large Flex, and Auditoriums. Designed for engagement, collaboration, and hybrid learning, these spaces range from lecture halls to flexible, tech-rich environments.

Traditional Classrooms

Traditional Classrooms are designed to accommodate 20–50 students, providing straightforward, user-friendly teaching experiences. These spaces support flexible course delivery by enabling faculty to bring their own devices and seamlessly connect to presentation systems.

Flex Classrooms

Flex Classrooms are designed to accommodate 25–45 students, promoting active learning and collaboration through adaptable furniture and advanced technology. These spaces support diverse teaching styles, group work, hybrid teaching and interactive activities.

Large Flex Classrooms

Large Flex Classrooms build upon the features of standard Flex Classrooms, accommodating larger groups (150+ students). These innovative spaces integrate advanced capabilities for collaborative and hybrid learning, making them ideal for engaging lessons, group activities, and hybrid teaching.

Auditoriums

Auditoriums are designed to accommodate 150–300 students, providing large-scale spaces for lectures, events, and guest speakers. Managed by the Classroom Technology Team, these rooms feature enhanced AV capabilities to support teaching and events.
