Join us for the second session in a two-part series focused on supporting neurodivergent students in higher education. These sessions, led by Makini Beck and Kendra Evans, provide both foundational understanding and practical strategies to help you create more inclusive and accessible learning environments.

Teaching Strategies for Supporting Neurodivergent Students will focus on practical approaches faculty can use to support neurodivergent learners. Participants will explore evidence-based teaching practices, inclusive course design strategies, and communication approaches that enhance student success. Attendees will also have the opportunity to reflect on their own teaching and identify small, high-impact changes they can make to create more accessible and supportive learning environments.

The first session, Understanding Neurodiversity in Higher Education, held on Monday, October 6, introduced key concepts of neurodiversity and explored the strengths and challenges neurodivergent students may experience in academic settings.

We encourage you to attend both sessions, though each stands on its own. Together, they provide a comprehensive look at ways we can better understand, support, and empower neurodivergent students in our classrooms.

Light refreshments will be provided.
This session is for RIT faculty, including adjuncts and teaching assistants. Participants should request access services if needed.
