Clark has presented and published in the areas of speech perception, speechreading, communication technologies and NTID’s Cochlear Implant Program. She also provides speechreading, auditory training, communication and telephone technologies, assistive listening devices, hearing tests and hearing aid evaluations for people with severe to profound hearing loss. Her bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences is from Bradley University and she earned a master’s degree in Audiology at the University of Louisville. She also received cochlear implant training at the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles, Calif. |

James J. DeCaro is a former dean for NTID, a post he held for 14 academic years. He is director of the Postsecondary Education Network International (PEN-International), a multi-million dollar collaborative network of universities around the world that educates students who are deaf. DeCaro is an Honorary Professor at Tinajin University of Technology (China) and holds an Honorary Doctoral Degree from Bauman Moscow State Technical University in Russia. In 2003, he received the HaiHe Award of Honour for outstanding service to better the circumstances of the people of Tianjin, China. DeCaro holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering and a Ph.D. in educational technology from Syracuse University. He has worked at the university level in the deafness field since 1971. |

An expert on the needs of deaf children, Lukomski's research focuses on the socialization of deaf kids in main stream settings and the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing psychotherapy techniques in school settings. She has also studied socialization issues among deaf college students. On top of her work at RIT, Lukomski is also a licensed child psychologist and through her private practice consults with schools and works with both children and adolescents. She holds a Ph.D. in school psychology from the University of Arizona. |
